Q: I want to have a large family reunion or youth group come, are you able to accommodate large groups?

A: Yes, Lava Campground loves to have large groups come! We do have large group tent site areas. Depending on the size of your group you may need to rent several sites. Please call us and we can help you figure out what sites may be the best for your situation.

Q: Are pets allowed in the retro campers.

A: No Pets are not allowed inside the retro campers. You are allowed to have the outside of the camper.

Q: Are more than 2 people allowed in a retro camper?

A: No, the retro campers only accommodate 2 people.

Q: Do you have a place to park extra vehicles?

A: Yes we do have a parking lot area where extra vehicles can be parked. If extra vehicles are parked in this extra parking lot there is not an extra charge. If an extra vehicle is parked at your site there is a 10 dollars fee.

Q: Do you allow extra vehicles at your campsite?

A: Extra vehicles are a 10 dollar fee. This will be charged to your card on file. If they are not parked at your site but parked in the extra parking lot they will not be charged.

Q: Do you allow pets? How many pets can I have?

A: We do allow pets but ask that they be kept on a leash and not left unattended. We allow 2 pets per site. It is a 3 dollar fee per pet per night, per pet.

Q: Can I Check in early or Check out Late?

A: We do allow check in or late check out. Most of the time we are able to accommodate these requests. We ask that if you would like to come early or leave late that you please call and make arrangements with the campground.

Q: What time is check in and Check out?

A: Check in is at 3:00 and Check out is at 11:00.

Q: Does the campsite include a hot pool entry?

A: No, the site does not include entry to any pools. The pools are state owned facility.

Q: Can I bring my own firewood?

A: Yes, you are allowed to bring your own firewood. We discourage splitting the wood at the campground. It does make a mess for future campers. We also ask that none of the wood be left at your site when you leave.

Q: Do you sell firewood?

A: Yes we do sell firewood. It is 5 dollars. It can be purchased online when you check out. It can also be purchased at the Camphost site. You may also call and we will deliver the firewood directly to your site.

Q: Does the site include a fire pit and picnic table?

A: Yes, all of our sites include a fire pit and picnic table.

Q: Are campfires allowed?

A: Yes, campfires are allowed in designated firepits only.

Q: Is there a way to walk to town?

A: Yes, there are a couple of walking trails to Lava Hot Springs. Both walking trails are along the mountain. 1 trail takes you to the center of Lava Hot Springs and is 1 mile. The other trail takes you over to the Koa and is ½ mile. These trials are located on the west side of the campground.

Q: How far is Lava Campground from Lava Hot Springs?

A: We are located 1 mile east of town.

Q: Does Lava Campground have Restroom and showers facilities?

A: Yes we do have flushing toilets and showers. The Men’s side has 2 flushing toilets, 1 urinal, and 2 sinks. The Women’s side has 3 toilets and 2 sinks. The showers are located on the opposite side of the building. There are 4 separate showers.

Q: How many people are allowed on a site?

A: The base price includes 4 people, if you would like to add extra people to your site you can. It is 3 dollars per person per night to add extra people( max 6 people per site). Group sites are allowed 4 people per tent that is on the group site. For example if you have rented a 4 tent group site you allowed 4 people per tent so the base price includes 16 people. You are Allowed to add extra people to a group site. (max 6 people per tent in group sites)

Q: Are you allowed to add a tent to your existing RV, tent or retro camper site?

A: Adding a tent to your existing site is allowed. It is a 20 dollar per night fee to add a tent to your site. This fee will be charged to the card on file.

A: All of our prices can be found online when clicking the book now button. Base price includes 4 people, 1 RV and 1 vehicle. Q: What is your cancellation Policy

A: If you need to cancel your reservation, you must call the campground before the deadlines listed below to receive your deposit refund, minus a $10 cancellation fee PER SITE. Text and email notifications of cancellations are not acceptable. Not calling to cancel/no show will result in forfeiture of the refund We require 48 hours before your reservation starts for cancellation. If cancellation is not made 48 hours prior the entire amount of your stay will not be refunded. Please notify Lava Campground by 4 p.m., 48 hours prior to your scheduled arrival.
